On Saturday, March 15, Hartford was alive with the spirit of the 53rd Annual Greater Hartford St. Patrick's Day Parade.

The festivities began promptly at 11 a.m., with the procession stepping off from the State Capitol. Marching bands, vibrant floats, and traditional Irish dancers filled Main Street, Asylum Avenue, and Ford Street, making their way to the Memorial Arch in Bushnell Park.

Tens of thousands of spectators lined the route, donning green attire and celebrating Irish heritage.

And with good reason: approximately 14% of Connecticut’s population, or about 615,000 residents, identify as having Irish ancestry, making it the second-largest population of Irish descent in New England.

The day was filled with joy, community spirit, and a shared appreciation for cultural traditions.
